Our view of the service

We rated this service as Good because people received safe, recovery‑focused care in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

There were effective systems in place to manage risks during detox and recovery. People were closely monitored during higher‑risk periods using structured observations and recognised clinical approaches, with proportionate use of technology‑enabled monitoring where required and with consent.

The environment was safe, clean and well maintained. Indoor spaces supported safe care delivery, and people had access to a therapeutic outdoor area as part of the recovery programme. Environmental risks, including fire safety, infection prevention and control, and medicines safety, were identified and managed through clear systems and records.

People were supported to engage in recovery during and after admission. The service provided a structured programme of activities and therapies, alongside planned follow‑up and aftercare, which helped people to maintain progress following discharge. Where people agreed, families were involved to support continuity and ongoing recovery.

The service had systems to assess and manage risks, including during detox. Staff had the training and support they needed to deliver safe care, and staffing levels were a key strength.

Governance and oversight arrangements supported consistent delivery of safe care, with systems in place to review performance, manage risks and respond to feedback from people using the service.
