Our view of the service
Cherished Moments is a private baby scan studio offering early pregnancy scans from 7 weeks, gender scans from 15 weeks, and 3D/4D high definition (HD) Live scans. The service also offers non-invasive prenatal (NIPT) testing and early gender blood tests.
We carried out a short notice, announced, risk-based assessment on 18 June 2026, as the service had not previously been inspected since being registered in October 2025. We inspected all 5 key questions: safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led.
We spent time on site at the registered location and reviewed evidence submitted by the provider following the inspection. We interviewed the registered manager and spoke with staff. We reviewed people’s records, policies, audits, risk registers, and governance documentation. We also reviewed feedback from people who had used the service. Further details on our inspection approach are available on the CQC website.
Safe - The service had sufficient skilled staff, effective safeguarding and incident management processes, and suitable, well-maintained facilities. Staff were supported through training and appraisal, and a positive learning culture encouraged continuous improvement.
Effective - Women were involved in decisions about their care, which was tailored to their individual needs. Staff prioritised safety and wellbeing, monitored people throughout treatment, and provided clear information to support informed consent and decision-making.
Caring - People were treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. Care was personalised to individual preferences, and staff were responsive to people's needs, encouraging open communication and involvement in their care.
Responsive - People received clear information to support informed decision-making and were encouraged to share feedback and raise concerns. The service made reasonable adjustments to promote equitable access and provided support to promote staff wellbeing.
Well-led - Leaders and staff understood the service's vision and values and worked collaboratively to deliver high-quality care. Leaders were visible, supportive and encouraged an open culture where staff felt valued and able to speak up. Effective governance and risk management processes supported continuous improvement.
During this assessment we rated the service good.
