Our view of the service
We carried out an announced inspection at the registered location of ADHD Treatment Centre, a specialist community-based neurodevelopmental service providing assessment and treatment for adults, children and young people living with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and assessment and diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We announced the assessment to ensure we had access to the evidence required and could speak with staff. The service had not previously been rated since it was registered with CQC in 2024.
The service was operated by a small multidisciplinary team, which included clinical and administrative staff, with access to external specialist input from a consultant psychiatrist where required. At the time of inspection, the service delivered assessment and treatment through a combination of remote and face-to-face appointments. The service had systems in place to support timely access, manage clinical risk, monitor treatment and support safe prescribing.
People received structured assessments, medical reviews and evidence-based interventions for ADHD. Care and treatment plans were personalised, and staff worked with people, families and relevant professionals where appropriate. People who used the service and their families gave positive feedback about the care received and described staff as professional, responsive and supportive.
Leaders had established governance and operational systems to support service delivery. These included electronic systems for patient records, incident reporting, audits, feedback processes and multidisciplinary meetings. The service was continuing to develop its structures as it grew, including strengthening governance, expanding staffing capacity and enhancing feedback systems.
At this assessment, we assessed 2 assessment service groups: community-based mental health services for adults of working age and specialist community mental health services for children and young people. We assessed all quality statements. We rated this service as good because people received safe, structured and person-centred care through face-to-face and remote appointments.
