Our overall rating of well-led at Draper House remained at good.
The service had a vision and values that reflected the aims and objectives of the service, both for staff and patients. The service had core values of respect, empowerment, achievement, collaborative working and hope (REACH).
Staff we spoke with had a clear understanding of the service and the requirements to maintain good practice and a strong culture of commitment at the service.
Staff we spoke with told us that there was opportunity for reasonable adjustments and flexibility in working agreements. Where required or requested, these adjustments were in place.
Team meeting minutes were structured and comprehensive, covering essential information required to ensure smooth running of the service, and keeping staff informed of any changes at the service. This included learning from incidents.
The key performance indicators we reviewed showed the various data collected to reflect and direct the running of the service as efficiently as possible. The data was divided into 4 separate categories; activity data, staffing data, quality and performance data and demographic data.
We saw evidence of close collaboration with commissioners for the service. We reviewed the report from a host commissioner quality visit in March 2026, prior to the inspection. The report was thorough and raised no concerns.
The service had signed up to the Quality Network for Mental Health Rehabilitation Services’ Peer Review Process, which is a quality improvement process run by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Rehabilitation Network.
