Caring
We looked for evidence the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.
This service scored 70 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
The 2025 National GP Patient Survey (GPPS) showed that the practice scored slightly below both local and national averages for patients feeling listened to (79%) and being treated with care and concern (74%). However, the practice scored above local and national averages for the helpfulness of reception and administrative staff (90%).
Since the assessment, GPPS have published new results in July 2026. The new data suggests a similar response from people and continued below the national and local average results. At the time of the assessment the practice had not responded to the 2025 feedback.
The practice had collated the Friends and Family survey (FFT), for March 2026 which had 16 positive responses.
Staff reported that they were treated with kindness and respect, and colleague feedback obtained through the lead GP’s appraisal was positive.
The service had arrangements to ensure patients’ privacy and dignity were protected. Curtains were available in consulting rooms to maintain privacy when required. Consultation and treatment room doors were kept closed during appointments so that conversations could not be overheard. Reception staff understood how to identify when patients wished to discuss sensitive matters or appeared distressed and were able to offer access to a private room to discuss their needs confidentially. Most staff were trained on confidentiality and General Data Protection GDPR.
