The service was accessible and met the needs of its patient population. Patients could self-refer or access care through the NHS Right to Choose scheme. Staff monitored waiting lists and prioritised patients based on risk. Although some patients waited over 12 months for ADHD assessments, new AI systems and processes had reduced waiting times, with further improvements expected.

Appointments were flexible, offered during early mornings, evenings, and weekends. Patients appreciated this flexibility. Staff followed up with those who missed appointments and supported re-engagement.

While waiting, patients received regular wellbeing messages and were signposted to local crisis services. Patients could contact the service via the online portal, though some reported difficulties using it and reaching staff by phone.

Staff worked effectively with GPs and other services to ensure continuity of care. Clear eligibility criteria supported appropriate referrals, and patients not suitable for the service were signposted to more appropriate support for their needs.

The provider encouraged patient feedback and used it to improve services. Patients were involved in service development, including testing the patient portal. Most patients felt informed and that their concerns were listened to.
