We reviewed 7 quality statements for safe. This included, learning culture, safe systems, pathways and transitions, safeguarding, involving people to manage risk, safe environments, safe and effective staffing and infection prevention and control. We found:

The service had a policy in place for reporting incidents. This included documenting and reviewing incidents promptly and sharing appropriately with the Association of Tongue-tie Practitioners (ATP) to promote learning and improve safety.

The registered manager was highly experienced and had the appropriate qualifications, skills, training, and experience. They demonstrated good knowledge of keeping people safe from avoidable harm and delivered high-quality, appropriate care and treatment. The registered manager showed good awareness of specific clinical risks. There was an efficient pathway in place to communicate with partners and escalate incidents.

The service assessed and managed the risk of infection effectively. People were protected from infection, as the premises and equipment were kept clean and hygienic to a good standard.
