Equity in access
The service made sure people could access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it. The service performed better than the national average in the results of the 2026 National GP Patient Survey. This showed people could access the service when they needed it in a way that suited their needs, such as by telephone and in person. For example, 93% of respondents to the survey described their overall experience of contacting this service as being good, compared to a national average of 73%. People told us they had a good experience accessing appointments. Feedback from people who used the service was positive. People described staff as polite, efficient and helpful and told us they had a good experience when accessing appointments and seeking support from the service. People also confirmed they were able to access services in a way that suited their needs. Treatment rooms were available on the ground floor, and a ramp and automatic door had been fitted to the entrance to ensure ease of access to the service.
Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who were most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes. They tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
Staff treated people fairly and without discrimination. Leaders worked with local partners to identify and reduce barriers to care and address health inequalities for example offering longer appointment times. Staff understood the importance of inclusive care and made reasonable adjustments to support equitable access and outcomes. Processes were in place to support registration and gather feedback from people using the service, including those without internet access. Feedback was mixed, as whilst some people reported long appointment waiting times, others said appointments were easy to arrange and that staff treated them with kindness and respect. The service made reasonable adjustments for people with additional needs, including offering longer appointments where appropriate. Information was available in accessible formats on request.
