Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders did not always actively listen to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes. This meant people’s care was not always tailored in response to this.
People told us they felt comfortable raising concerns and providing feedback, but they did not think this was always acted upon. One person’s relative said, “Staff are approachable.” However, they went on to explain that when they asked for changes, this had not always been acted on.
We saw that people had been asked for their views of the service, but action had not been taken in response to the feedback provided. For example, people’s relatives had asked for improvements to be made to the external environment to improve accessibility for people, at the time of inspection this work had not been completed.
Following the inspection the provider took action to make the improvements people had requested.
