People were given person-centred care. People were encouraged to share their views through monthly care reviews and service user feedback. People told us that their religious, cultural, and diverse needs were met.

The provider offered Advance Care Planning, a process that gave people the opportunity to plan their future care and support.

Person-centred Care

Score: 3

People received person-centred care. They told us staff referred to them using their preferred name and title.

There was information on whether a Do not Attempt Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (DNACPR) was in place.

Staff completed training in working in person centred way.

The provider held monthly reviews with the GP on anticipatory medicines, ensuring prompt symptom relief for end-of-life clients when needed.

Advance care planning provided people the opportunity to plan their future care and support.

Staff supporting end-of-life clients had the opportunity to work alongside hospice professionals and other experts, enhancing their ability to deliver compassionate and personalised care.

The registered manager told us that they developed a communication passport as part of their commitment to the Accessible Information Standard and person-centred care by ensuring that people were supported in a way that truly aligns with their personal communication needs and preferences.

People told us that there is monthly review of their care, and their religious, cultural and diverse needs were being met.

The registered manager told us, ‘’LGBTQ+ badges are worn by employees, staff, or community members to signal that they are supportive of LGBTQ+ rights, are advocates for equality, and are committed to creating spaces that are safe and respectful for everyone’’.

People were well treated, and their human rights were respected.

People were encouraged to give their views. People completed monthly care review forms, service users feedback forms, and monthly feedback quality monitoring forms.

People using the service had a wide range of different needs. The provider tailored their approach and support to help people. This involved upskilling staff and researching best practices.
