The provider had processes to ensure people’s human rights were respected. Care plans identified people’s religious and cultural preferences. People and relatives explained that care workers treated them with dignity and respect when providing care. Care workers were also aware of their specific needs in relation to religion or cultural background. A person said, “They are respectful and professional.” The person explained that the care workers were aware of their religious beliefs and supported them to practice them. Relatives said, “Yes, always respect and dignity, they are very kind and listen and talk to [family member] in their own language, they also respect them when [family member] is in prayer as well. They know that they are vegetarian and take them into the prayer room” and “We are so grateful to have them as they show [family member] utmost respect. How? Well, they talk to them and hold their hand and say `it`s okay`, this calms them.”
