Equity in experiences and outcomes
Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.
Staff were trained about equity, diversity and human rights and understood how to apply these principles in practice. Staff were aware of potential barriers people may experience in everyday life. They gave an example of how they had worked with healthcare professionals to ensure hospital treatment was tailored to a person’s needs. This helped to reduce anxiety and ensure positive outcomes for the person.
Relatives told us they were confident their loved ones were treated equally and with fairness, and felt staff were kind, inclusive and respectful.
