Caring – this means we looked for evidence that the provider involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.

At our last assessment we rated this key question good. At this assessment the rating has remained good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect; and involved as partners in their care.

People had choice and control over their lives and were supported to maintain their independence wherever possible. Staff knew people well and had developed warm and compassionate relationships with people.

The registered managers and staff promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing. Staff told us they offered people choice and respected their decisions.

People told us they could have visitors whenever they wanted, and there were plenty of activities on offer. Relatives were also complimentary of the care their loved ones received. One relative commented, “This is the best home I’ve been in. It’s a nice setting, they can go out in the garden when the weather is better, they have cinema days with popcorn.”
