Effective – this means we looked for evidence that people’s care, treatment and support achieved good outcomes and promoted a good quality of life, based on best available evidence.

At our last assessment we rated this key question Good. At this assessment the rating has remained Good. This meant people’s outcomes were consistently good, and people’s feedback confirmed this.

People received care which reflected good practice because staff worked closely with other professionals and involved people in planning their own care and support.

Delivering evidence-based care and treatment

Score: 3

The provider planned and delivered people’s care and treatment with them, including what was important and mattered to them. They did this in line with legislation and current evidence-based good practice and standards. People received care which reflected good practice because staff worked closely with other professionals and involved people in planning their own care. One person told us, “The staff are very well trained and very competent. They know the best way to do things and they involve me always.”

Staff confirmed they were provided with good support and training to meet people's needs effectively. We saw that an ongoing schedule of training was in place, to ensure staff kept up to date with best practice. Staff spoke knowledgeably about their training in areas such as supporting people with their reablement needs.

Systems were in place to support staff to deliver care to people in line with legislation, current practice and standards. New staff completed an induction where they worked with experienced staff to understand and gain knowledge about the job role. We saw the provider carried out regular spot checks to observe that staff were working in line with best practice.
