Governance, management and sustainability

Score: 1

Although we noted some governance processes were established and used to good effect, including employment of a quality control consultant, significant gaps were noted in relation to governance and management.

The standard of records made about patient care was inconsistent because information did not always include the reason for care and treatment; the outcome for the patient. The provider did not have standard forms to enable quality assurance. The provider lacked systems and processes to identify, embed and act on learning following incidents. The provider did not make sufficient changes to ensure any future events was responded to appropriately.

Many policies and procedure lacked detail and were non-specific to the service.

The provider needed to strengthen their understanding of risk assessments as a governance tool.

The provider managed patient confidentiality and information security well.

Partnerships and communities

They used these networks to identify new or innovative ideas that can lead to better outcomes for people.

Learning, improvement and innovation

Score: 2

Youthify Aesthetics is a private aesthetic clinic and the provider stated they engaged with local sector specialist peers to, share learning and experiences. We were informed they used networks to identify new or innovative ideas that could lead to better outcomes for people.

The service, however, did not always focus on continuous learning, and they did not seek the opinions of their patients about how to improve the service because they did not conduct patient surveys requesting comments about what worked well and potential improvements.
