We looked for evidence that the service involved people and treated them with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.

Kindness, compassion and dignity

The service encouraged general, public-facing feedback from patients and people commented using online consumer review portals and social media channels. These sources showed people were positive about the quality of their experience when using Youthify Aesthetics Clinic.

The service did not conduct in-house surveys related to the service such as satisfaction with cleanliness; access; aftercare or other topics related to direct care.

Treating people as individuals

Score: 3

The clinic treated patients as individuals and made sure people’s care, support and treatment met their needs and preferences. The provider described examples of when they took account of people’s strengths, abilities, aspirations, culture and unique backgrounds and protected characteristics.

 

The provider told us any patients who were nervous or anxious about the treatment were given extra time and their treatment was explained so they knew what to expect. They also commented that due to the nature of their service they worked closely with patients to understand and manage their expectations and their experience.

Independence, choice and control

The service promoted people’s independence, so people knew their rights and had choice and control over their own care, treatment and wellbeing.

The provider recognised the importance of people’s dignity and showed respect. They displayed an understanding and non-judgmental attitude when talking about patients who were seeking to address concerns regarding their appearance.

Responding to people’s immediate needs

The service listened to people’s needs, views and wishes. Processes were in place to ensure staff responded to people’s needs in the moment and acted to minimise any discomfort, concern or anxiety.

The clinic was organised and delivered services to meet patients’ needs and engage people in discussions about their immediate needs.

The service is a single-handed practitioner.

They were a member of, and subscribed to, recognised best practice organisations within the aesthetic medicines’ community.
