Our view of the service
The assessment commenced on 22 January 2025 and was completed on 4 February 2025. Rest Assured Homecare Services is a domiciliary care service that provides care and support for people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. At the time of our assessment the service was supporting 27 people with the regulated activity of personal care. This assessment was carried out using remote technology and we did not visit the locations’ office. We spoke with people, relatives and staff and the senior management team. We reviewed 7 quality statements. The overall rating at this assessment is good.
Safe and effective processes were in place. Risks relating to people’s health, safety and welfare were assessed and reviewed regularly. The provider operated effective safeguarding procedures and staff demonstrated a good understanding of people’s needs and how to safely manage individual risks. Staff were recruited safely and had the necessary skills, training and support to carry out their role.
Staff provided care that was safe, supportive and enabled people to retain their independence. Staff had a good practical understanding of capacity and applied this to their practices to ensure people were able to make decisions and consent to care. Staff worked with people to identify potential barriers and developed personalised plans of care to ensure equality in the care people received. The provider worked collaboratively with other professionals to ensure good outcomes for people.
The service had a positive staff culture which centred around teamwork, communication and putting people who used the service at the heart of decision making. Staff were responsive to changes in people’s needs and communicated with other health and social care professionals to ensure a holistic approach to risk management and care delivery.
