We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 10 March 2026.
We found the practice had not met all regulations.
The practice’s systems to manage risk were not always effective. In particular, risks associated with fire safety, maintenance of equipment and premises, medical emergencies, hazardous substances and staff recruitment.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, these were not consistently followed.
The practice did not have effective systems to receive, review and act on patient safety alerts.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
Apollonia Dental and Cosmetic Centre (also known as Impact Dental) is in Liverpool and provides private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There was small step to access to the practice and car parking spaces available near the practice.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 10 staff, of which there were 4 dentists, 1 dental hygienists, 3 qualified dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, the hygienist, 2 dental nurses and the practice manager.
The provider was not complying with Regulation 17 Good governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection report.
We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.

Prior to our visit, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We received feedback from 5 patients. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice.
Comments included,

He was clear, precise, and reassuring throughout, and I felt completely confident that my [family member] was in excellent hands…”
“Very professional from the start. I haven't had the best experiences with dentists before. But from the very beginning I was put at complete ease. [My dentist] is very calm and approachable with any questions I had. All round brilliant experience”
“I cannot recommend Impact Dental enough. We had our first visit today and instantly felt relaxed. Both children are very anxious normally at the dentist and both were made to feel at ease by [dentist and dental nurse]. [The hygienist] also made me very comfortable and I felt relaxed throughout the whole appointment. We will be back”
“Having previously had failed dental work abroad, [my dentist] and his team were able to help me not only regain my smile, but the function of my mouth. I thought I would never be able to eat properly again, or smile. I could not be happier and would not hesitate to recommend the clinic to everyone I know. Thank you [everyone] at Impact!”

Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness.
Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed.
Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care. “From the moment the appointment was allocated I cannot fault this amazing dental practice. The staff are professional, warm and compassionate, the treatment was explained with in depth knowledge, taking on board my anxiety. They completely alleviated any worries I had. The high level of skill and expertise was outstanding. I am delighted with my outcome and will never go anywhere else”
Patients said when they were prescribed medicines, sufficient information was given.
The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
