During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out our assessment of this service between 20 July 2026 to 14 August 2026. We visited the service on 22 July 2026.
Rose House is a residential care home for 4 people with learning disabilities and autistic people. There were 4 people were using the service at the time of inspection.
We have assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. We found people received care and support in accordance with the principles of this guidance.
The last rating for this service was ‘requires improvement’ in April 2026. This assessment was carried out to follow up on actions we told the provider to take at the last inspection. For those quality statements not inspected, we used the ratings awarded at the last inspection to calculate the overall rating. At this inspection we rated the service good.
The provider was previously in breach of the legal regulation in relation to safe care and treatment, good governance, person-centred care, need for consent, and premises and equipment. Improvements were found at this assessment, and the provider was no longer in breach of these regulations.
We found care plans had sufficient details to support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care. Risks to people’s health and safety were assessed, and appropriate action was taken to mitigate identified risks. The management team carried out checks to identify any potential hazards in the service and put measures in place to mitigate those risks. The provider had an effective approach to assessing and managing the risk of infection.
The provider ensured people received care and support based on the latest good practice and relevant guidance. The service was operating in line with the principles of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA). Systems and processes for the safe management of medicines were effective. The governance arrangements were operated effectively to monitor, assess and drive improvements in the quality and safety of care.
