Well-led
Well-led – this means we looked for evidence that service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. This is the first assessment for this service. This key question has been rated good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

The provider had a shared vision, strategy and culture. This was based on transparency, equity, equality and human rights, diversity and inclusion, engagement, and understanding challenges and the needs of people and their communities.
Relatives and staff feedback promoted the providers aims and objectives to deliver a service that promoted person-centred care and reflected people’s choices and preferences. One relative told us, “They [Caredo Ltd] are head and shoulders above the rest. They care about [family members], they really care.”
Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
The provider had inclusive leaders at all levels who understood the context in which they delivered care, treatment and support and embodied the culture and values of their workforce and organisation. Leaders had the skills, knowledge, experience and credibility to lead effectively. They did so with integrity, openness and honesty.
Staff spoke positively about the management team. One staff member told us, “I like working here the managers are very caring.” They told us they felt supported by the management team who were available by telephone and their own on call system. A second staff member said, “The managers can be contacted when I need them.”
Freedom to speak up
The management team fostered a positive culture where people felt they could speak up and their voice would be heard.
Staff told us they were encouraged to raise any concerns they may have. One staff member commented, “If any concerns, no problem contacting the manager. They are available to deal with any problems.”
Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
The management team valued diversity in their workforce. They worked towards an inclusive and fair culture by improving equality and equity for people who worked for them.
The provider had policies and procedures around equality, diversity and inclusion. Staff told us they were supported by the management team and felt they considered their equality, diversity and inclusion and treated everyone equally and fairly.
Governance, management and sustainability
The provider had clear responsibilities, roles, systems of accountability and good governance. They used these to manage and deliver good quality, sustainable care, treatment and support. They acted on the best information about risk, performance and outcomes, and shared this securely with others when appropriate.

Partnerships and communities
The provider understood their duty to collaborate and work in partnership, so services worked seamlessly for people. They shared information and learning with partners and collaborated for improvement.
Records we viewed, showed the management team worked closely with people, relatives, health care agencies, to drive improvement and meet people’s needs.
Learning, improvement and innovation
The provider focused on continuous learning, innovation and improvement across the organisation, delivering a safe and effective service.
The management team worked well together with a focus on delivering good care and improving systems. They recognised how quality assurance systems were used to continuously improve the service.
Staff were supported to enrol and complete vocational diploma training to enhance their knowledge and skills.
