During an assessment of Community-based substance misuse services
We assessed Turning Point Leicester City Substance Misuse from 9 to 10 December 2025. A combination of onsite and offsite assessment activity took place between 9 and 23 December 2025.
This was the first inspection since it was registered with the Care Quality Commission in April 2023. At this fully comprehensive assessment we assessed 1 assessment service group; community-based substance misuse service, where we assessed all quality statements.
Turning Point Leicester City Substance Misuse provides community-based support to adults and young people under 18 experiencing difficulties with drug or alcohol use. The service operates at this hub only but delivers care across outreach locations across the city, including client homes where required. The service operates 5 days per week and 1 evening per week. It also operates on Saturday mornings.
Mental Capacity Act Compliance Summary
The service had 98% training compliance for the Mental Capacity Act, and there was evidence that capacity was assessed at first contact. Staff were able to reference that they had received training, but they did not regularly revisit capacity in recorded recovery worker sessions. However, there was one good example of capacity being explored for a pregnant client with a burn.
