Person-centred Care

Score: 3

People received person-centred care which met their needs. Relatives told us they were happy with the care. Comments from relatives included, “The agency is responsive when we want to change something” and “They are very flexible and responsive.”

Staff told us they supported people with their leisure and social needs as well as personal care when people wanted this. A staff member explained, “I support my client with various activities, going for walks and playing board games."

Care provision, Integration and continuity

Staff liaised with other professionals involved in people’s care when needed. This helped to ensure people received continuity of care.

Providing Information

The provider ensured people had information about the service and their care. The registered manager told us information could be produced in different languages and formats if people needed this.

Listening to and involving people

There was a suitable complaints procedure. Relatives told us they knew how to make a complaint and felt confident speaking up. The registered manager regularly met with people and their relatives to discuss their experiences. A relative told us, “They listen to us. We have meetings and we can discuss any issues. They look into concerns. I cannot fault them.”

People were able to access the care and support they needed in a way that worked for them.

People had equity in experience and outcomes. Staff undertook training about equality and human rights.

Staff worked with people and their relatives to identify any future plans they had. They helped people to retain skills and independence when they were able to.
