This service is registered with CQC under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 in respect of some, but not all, of the services it provides. There are some exemptions from regulation by CQC which relate to particular types of activities and services, and these are set out in Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 of The Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. The service is a private fee-charging aesthetic and wellness clinic. Plastic surgery under local anaesthetic was also provided from this location. Surgery which required general anaesthetic was carried out at a local private hospital under doctors' practicing privileges.
Care and treatment provided is doctor-led. Only people over 18 years old can access this service.
Treatments included but were not restricted to: bioidentical hormone replacement therapy; intravenous (IV) vitamin injections; IV ozone therapy and laser skin therapy. Surgery under local anaesthetic included: removal of lumps and bumps; earlobe re-fashioning and labioplasty.
Treatment was provided and supervised by the leader who was registered as a qualified plastic surgeon. A General Practitioner also provided care and treatment to patients and supervision to staff at the CLNQ Deansgate Square.
CLNQ Deansgate Square had a good learning culture and people could raise concerns. Managers investigated incidents thoroughly. People were protected and kept safe. Staff understood and managed risks. The facilities and equipment met the needs of people, were clean and well-maintained and any risks identified were mitigated.
There were enough staff with the right skills and experience to complete all tasks required to keep people safe. Managers made sure staff received regular appraisals and training.
Medicines were well-managed.
Leaders listened and used information from people to plan changes.
Given the complexity of procedures that take place at this location the provider should consider reviewing the safeguarding policy in two areas specifically, processes for confirming the age and identity of potential patients and seeking the opportunity to speak to potential patients alone if they come escorted.
