Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.

People were treated in a respectful and dignified way. A relative said, “[Loved one] is treated with respect, well and fairly. [Loved ones] human rights are upheld.

The registered manager and staff provided support in line with best practice guidance such as Right support, right care, right culture. This meant people’s support was person-centred and reduced the potential for inequalities to exist. Staff understood people’s needs and wishes well, including their protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010. We saw 1 example in which staff worked hard, with a range of external professionals, to ensure a person had a positive experience with good outcomes for a health need.
