During an assessment under our new approach
Date of assessment; 2 February 2026. Edenbridge Manor Care Home is a residential care home providing support to a maximum of 85 people who live with a range of health conditions such as dementia, diabetes, heart conditions, and general frailty and mobility problems. At the time of our inspection there were 79 people living at the service.
We undertook this responsive assessment to check on safeguarding concerns. We did not identify significant concerns relating to safeguarding concerns.
People who were at risk of skin breakdown had not always been supported to regularly reposition. Daily notes did not evidence that people had been supported to re-position every 4 hours in line with their care plans. Some care plans were not clear how often people had to be supported to re-position. Some people were prescribed medicines on an ‘as and when’ basis, however guidance was not sufficiently detailed to inform staff when to administer this, or the maximum dosage in 24hrs. People who were prescribed time sensitive medications were not always administered within this time frame. People told us, and we observed there were times when there were not sufficient numbers of staff. Although there was a wide range of checks and audits completed by leaders at the service, they did not identify these issues. When we raised concerns with leaders, they took action to address the concerns.
Feedback we received from people, relatives and staff was positive. There was a positive culture within the service, which prompted good outcomes for people. The service was clean and free from malodours. There were systems in place to learn and improve when incidents occurred. There were effective safeguarding processes in place. Staff had been recruited following safe recruitment practices and received sufficient training and support.
