Renew Skin and Health Clinic Limited was a small private clinic located in Leamington Spa. The clinic was registered to provide surgical procedures, diagnostic and screening procedures, and treatment of disease, disorder or injury. Treatment offered included minor surgical procedures, including hair transplants and the removal of lumps and bumps, dermatology, and GP services. Our assessment focused on surgical procedures for adults over the age of 18. The clinic was also registered to treat children aged 4 to 12 and young people aged 13 to 17. However, we did not inspect services for children and young people as part of this assessment.
Most of the treatments delivered at the clinic were aesthetic procedures that were outside of the scope of a regulated activity. For example laser hair removal.
From January 2024 to January 2025 81 adults attended the clinic for a treatment that came into scope of a regulated activity.
The clinic had no overnight beds. Facilities included a theatre, a recovery room, 3 laser treatment rooms, a consultation room and a waiting area.
A team of 2 inspectors and 1 specialist advisor assessed the service on 19 February 2025. One inspector returned for a second visit on 5 March 2025. We spoke to 5 members of staff and 4 patients. We reviewed 18 patient files and the personnel files of all 4 staff who were substantively employed at the clinic. We reviewed the files relating to 5 doctors working at the clinic under practicing privileges.
