Our view of the service

Date of inspection: 21 May to 10 June 2026.

The service is a residential home providing accommodation with nursing and personal care for older people and people living with dementia. The service can support 27 people. There were 22 people living in the service at the time the inspection commenced.

This was a comprehensive inspection of all quality statements, which was prompted due to the age of the last rating and emerging risk. The last comprehensive inspection of the service was in 2023, where the service was rated as Requires Improvement.

We carried out unannounced visits to the service on 21 May and 09 June 2026.

This inspection found the service was in breach of 1 legal regulation relating to need for consent.

Consent had not always been lawfully obtained in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

We found that staff were caring and supported people in a kind and considerate manner. Staff received appropriate training for their roles and worked well with healthcare professionals.

Systems were in place to monitor the running of the service; these were not always effective at identifying areas of concern.

We raised the concerns we had found during our inspection with the registered manager and the provider; they were responsive and took action to address some of the issues immediately.

We have asked the provider for further action plans in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
