Our view of the service

Oaklands Hospital is an acute independent health hospital operated by Ramsay Health Care UK Operations Limited and based in Salford, Greater Manchester. The hospital provides a range of elective inpatient and day case surgical procedures for NHS and private fee-paying adult patients including orthopaedics, ophthalmology, bariatric (weight loss) surgery, and endoscopic procedures. The hospital also provides a range of outpatient and diagnostic imaging services for adults. The main service provided by this hospital was surgery, which was previously inspected in 2025 and so not reinspected at this assessment.

On 9 and 10 April 2026, we commenced an unannounced, comprehensive assessment of medical care (including older people’s care), outpatients and diagnostic imaging at the location. Surgery remains the main service provided by this location.

We rated each of medical care, outpatients and diagnostic imaging services as good, and the overall location rating for Oaklands Hospital remains good.
