Person-centred Care

Score: 3

The service worked in partnership with people and put people at the centre of their care and support choices. Care plans detailed people’s likes, dislikes and preferences, and we observed people being supported in line with these.

Care provision, Integration and continuity

Score: 3

We did not look at Care provision, Integration and continuity during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Responsive.

Providing Information

Score: 3

The service shared information with people in a way that met their individual needs. Information was provided in easy read formats, and supportive tools such as social stories and pictures were used to aid understanding. There were communication boards around the home which covered various topics such as activities opportunities, how to raise concerns and information about healthy eating. Staff had also made a picture-based menu folder, which was regularly updated when people tried new food. This supported people to make informed choices.

Listening to and involving people

Score: 3

The provider made it easy for people to share feedback and ideas, or raise complaints about their care, treatment and support. The service had weekly resident meetings where people planned activities, discussed menu ideas, and were encouraged to share their views.

Equity in access

Score: 3

The service supported people to access the care, support and treatment they needed when they needed it. We saw evidence of staff advocating for people to make sure they had equal access to healthcare services. For example, seeking advice from the dentist to enable them to provide information about treatment options in an accessible way when this had not been provided.
