Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 22 May to 17 June 2025
We carried out this assessment following concerns. Although we found some areas for improvement, we did not find evidence this had negatively impacted people’s care.
We assessed the service against ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ guidance to make judgements about whether the provider guaranteed people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices, independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted.
There was a positive culture of learning at the service. Staff understood their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding. There were appropriate staffing levels, and safe recruitment practices were followed. People and their families were fully involved in the assessment of their needs. Staff treated people with kindness, compassion and respect, and promoted their independence. Information was provided in a way that was accessible for people. We received consistently good feedback about the registered manager and deputy managers at the service.
However, environmental risks were not always managed in a timely way and the provider did not have effective systems and processes in place to ensure sufficient oversight.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives were positive about the support people received, and we observed positive interactions between people and staff. We saw staff were patient, kind and encouraging when supporting people.
