Patients, and where appropriate, their representatives were included in discussions and decisions about their care. Information was shared in a clear and easy-to-understand way so patients could make informed choices. People were encouraged to provide feedback and were aware of who to approach if they had any worries or concerns. Adjustments were made within the environment to support individuals whose conditions may affect access to the service. Patients understood why diagnostic procedures were recommended and were involved throughout the decision-making process. The service also recognised the importance of staff wellbeing and provided support to promote this.
