Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this. The provider, staff and leaders advocated for their service users’ rights.

We saw examples of the provider advocating for people by putting in complaints against external agencies which staff felt the person had been mistreated by. We also saw examples of the provider engaging with members of the community who had been abusive towards people being supported by the provider, in order to mediate and educate them about the rights of people with a learning disability. We also saw that people who required it were being offered support from an independent advocate.
