Caring

Good

Updated 4 September 2026

Our overall rating of caring at Queen’s Hospital Burton has remained good.

Staff consistently treated patients with kindness, empathy and compassion and took account of their individual needs. Patients were supported and treated with dignity and respect and were involved as partners in their care. Staff promoted people’s independence and ensured patients understood their rights, enabling them to have choice and control over their care, treatment and wellbeing. These approaches helped to deliver person-centred care and supported positive patient experiences.

However, due to crowding within the emergency department, staff could not always provide patients with the level of privacy and dignity they should expect. In addition, although wellbeing support was available to staff, this did not fully mitigate the impact of workload pressures and the stress associated with working in a busy environment. Despite these challenges, staff remained committed to delivering compassionate care and maintaining positive relationships with patients.
