Great Ormond Street Hospital
Report from 17 October 2024 assessment
Safe
Surgical services at the hospital were delivered in an environment that prioritised patient safety, with clear systems in place for managing risk, safeguarding, and infection prevention. Clinical areas were clean, well-maintained, and supported by established safety protocols. While mandatory training compliance was generally high, limitations in the granularity of training data meant assurance could not be fully confirmed at ward or team level. Staffing challenges, including vacancies in some specialities, were mitigated by proactive recruitment and support strategies.
