We observed staff to be compassionate and child-centred in their approach, taking time to reassure children and families and address their concerns. Play specialists played a crucial role in preparing children for surgery and supporting emotional wellbeing. Feedback through the Friends and Family Test and other routes indicated positive experiences of care, and families reported being treated with kindness and respect.
