Basildon University Hospital

Safe was rated Inadequate overall for Basildon University Hospital.

Urgent and Emergency Care had a full assessment between 17th and 18th December 2024. We undertook another site visit on 8th January 2025 to follow up the concerns we found on 17 and 18 December 2024 and, due to ongoing concerns we, visited again on 10th March 2025. Safe was rated Inadequate.

Medical care including care of older people was assessed in December 2024. Following our assessment the Safe key question was rated Requires Improvement.

Children and Young People Services were assessed for the first time on the 26th November 2024. Following our assessment the Safe key question was rated Inadequate.

Maternity services were last assessed on the 24th and 25th of July 2024. Following our assessment the Safe key question rating had increased to Requires Improvement.

Surgery was last assessed in July, August and September of 2021. Safe key question rating for this service was Requires Improvement.
