Date of Assessment: 10 September to 26 September 2025. The service is a care home with nursing which provides personal care to adults, some of whom were living with dementia or physical disabilities. At the time of our inspection 40 people lived at the service. We assessed and inspected the service due to the length of time since the last assessment. We carried out a comprehensive assessment and inspection of the service covering all 5 key questions and all quality statements. The service was previously rated good; at this inspection the service was rated good overall and outstanding in caring.
The service proactively worked with people and their families to understand people goals and wishes. Bespoke plans were in place to support people to work towards the things that were important to them. People’s achievements were celebrated within the service. Staff and leaders worked innovatively to promote people’s independence and actively monitored the impact of interventions.
People received safe care from staff who knew them well. Staff understood how to safeguard people from the risk of abuse and how to effectively report and learn from accidents and incidents. The home environment was clean, safe and well maintained. Staff were recruited safely with appropriate pre-employment checks taking place. Staff told us they enjoyed their jobs and felt supported in their roles. People’s care plans were personalised to them, ensuring that people received care that was bespoke to them. Leaders at the service actively sought feedback from staff, people and their relatives to help shape the service. The service was managed well, regular governance and auditing activities ensured that any problems were identified and addressed quickly.
