ADVANCE DENTAL CARE

We undertook a follow-up on-site inspection on 18 July 2025. This was carried out to review the actions taken by the registered provider to improve the quality of care and to assess whether the practice was meeting legal requirements.

We had previously undertaken an announced on-site inspection of Advance Dental Care on 31 March 2025. We had found the registered provider was not providing well-led care and was in breach of regulation 17, good governance of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014.

During our follow-up inspection, we found the practice had met regulations.

The practice had improved their systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Recruitment procedures had improved to reflect current legislation and there was a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance.

Advance Dental Care is in the London Borough of Hounslow and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

There was step-free access to the practice.

The practice had 7 treatment rooms. During the inspection we spoke with the head nurse, the practice manager and a principal dentist.

The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of CQC regulation and are not covered in our inspection.

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 31 March 2025.

We found the practice had not met all regulations.

Infection control procedures were not always in line with national guidance and recruitment procedures did not fully reflect current legislation. There was a lack of sufficient governance and oversight to monitor and mitigate the various risks arising from the carrying on of the regulated activity.

However, patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.

The practice had 7 treatment rooms. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, 2 receptionists, the practice manager and one of the directors of the practice.

The service provides cosmetic treatments, some of which are not in scope of regulation and are not covered in our inspection.

The provider was not complying with Regulation 17: Good Governance. Full details of the regulation the provider was not meeting are within the inspection findings below.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this inspection.
