Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

The management and staff embraced a shared vision to provide person centred care that was well planned monitored and delivered. The Director and registered manager prioritised compliance and monitoring. The ethos of the management team was one of compassion and kindness.
Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
The director and registered manager demonstrated a passion to provide care that was of good quality, compassionate and inclusive. The management team regularly checked on their own practice and abilities with both other senior staff and were in the process of establishing a committee to have an oversight of how the organisation was operating. The Director and management ream worked closely with external companies for example legal experts and auditors and had recently conducted a full audit of all the human resources practices, procedures, and staff files.
Freedom to speak up
Staff told us they felt comfortable to challenge anything they felt did not feel quite right. This meant there were respectful discussions and debriefs when required. All staff gave positive feedback in relation to the management team. Staff told us they felt comfortable to speak up if they were not happy about anything. A staff member told us, “I feel listened to and that my opinion matters.” Another staff member told us, “They [Management team] complete regular staff surveys to get feedback, and things get addressed, so yes I feel able to speak out.” A staff member told us, “We are comfortable challenging team members, and it works both ways. We do not let hierarchy prevent professional and respectful discussions.”
Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
People were cared for by diverse workforce which was representative of the people they supported. The service operated in a way which was inclusive and where everyone belonged. For example, staff were able to talk about people’s religious and or ethnic backgrounds and were interested in diverse cultures. On a day we visited a person in their own home there was a wonderful aroma of cooking, and staff described how the person enjoyed a particular type of food and flavours.
Governance, management and sustainability
The director and management team demonstrated resilience in the service. There was a commitment to grow the service slowly so that quality was not compromised. Sustainability and longevity were keys to the growing success; nothing was rushed and time invested was evident with the overall positivity that was the golden thread throughout the inspection findings.
The provider completed a wide range of audits on all aspects of the service. Audits viewed showed detailed criteria, clear responsibility, and actions when issues had been identified.
Partnerships and communities
The staff team had developed good partnership working with other professionals and partners. This helped provide holistic care that was joined up and seamless. People were supported to access and get involved in community events.
