During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 11 August 2026.
We found the practice had met regulations.
Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there were systems in place to support leadership and continuous improvement.
Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks. We identified minor issues in the infection prevention and control processes which should be reviewed.
The practice should review the checking processes and availability of emergency medicines and equipment to ensure these are in line with national guidance.
The policy and protocols for the use of closed-circuit television (CCTV) should be reviewed.
The practice is in Otley and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.
There is a pay and display car park behind the practice including dedicated parking for disabled people. There was step-free access to the practice via a portable ramp and a ground floor treatment room. The toilet is not accessible as this is on the first floor.
The practice had 3 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 12 staff, of which there were 3 dentists, 5 dental nurses (including 1 trainee), 1 dental hygienist, 2 receptionists and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 3 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
