Initial assessments were conducted with people, their relatives and professionals who were already involved in their care. People’s care plans reflected the information they had been provided with and were amended as people’s needs changed. There were clear mental capacity assessments in place for specific decisions relating to people’s care ensuring that decisions were validly made in people’s best interest where needed. There were also valid Deprivation of Liberty (DoLS) authorisations in place to ensure that people’s liberty was not unlawfully deprived.
