Equity in experiences and outcomes

Score: 3

Staff and leaders actively listened to information about people who are most likely to experience inequality in experience or outcomes and tailored their care, support and treatment in response to this.

People told us they were encouraged to provide feedback and any feedback provided was acted upon. One person’s relative said, “I would go to [senior staff] if I had any issues, they are very responsive, and I can always get through on the phone.”

Staff were aware of the importance of listening to people, they told us they treated people equally and without discrimination. They were deployed consistently to the same people and this enabled them to build rapport with people, to understand their needs and how they wanted their support to be provided. One member of staff said, “I go to the same people, I learn their needs and get to know people well.”

Records showed mandatory training was in place for equality and diversity for all staff.
