During an assessment under our new approach
We carried out this announced, on-site inspection on 25 June 2025.
We found the practice had met all regulations.
Infection control procedures in place were effective.
The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks.
Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.
Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance.
Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our inspection, could access care, support and treatment when required.
Woolwich Gentle Dental Care is part of Gentle Dental Care a dental group provider. The practice is in Woolwich, in the London Borough of Greenwich and provides private dental care and treatment mainly for adults and some children.
There was no step-free access to the practice and patients were made aware of this before they made an appointment. Car parking spaces were available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice. The practice is located close to public transport links.
The practice had 4 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there was a total of 14 staff, of which there were 2 dentists, 4 dental nurses, of which 2 were trainees, 4 dental therapists, 1 dental hygienist, 2 receptionists and a practice manager. The practice team is also supported by a compliance team.
We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 1 dentist, 1 dental nurse, and the practice manager.
