During an assessment under our new approach
UK Specialist Care Ltd is a domiciliary care agency registered to provide personal care to people in their own homes. The service provides support to people of all ages and different abilities. At the time of assessment, the service provided care to 3 people who received personal care.
Assessment activity started on 28 August 2024. This was the first assessment of the service. We looked at 5 key questions: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.
During the assessment we found 3 breaches of regulation in relation to safe care and treatment. Care plans were in place to support people to manage risks but we found that risk assessments lacked detail and required further detail, so risks were managed effectively. Care plans and risk assessments were not regularly reviewed and there was no evidence of people being involved in the planning of their care. The provider’s governance systems had not identified or addressed the areas of improvement we found during this inspection. Although we found these concerns there were enough staff with the right skills, qualifications and experience. The registered manager made sure staff received training and regular support to maintain high-quality care. We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to the concerns found at this assessment.
