We looked for evidence of a good learning culture, that safety was a priority and leaders embedded a culture of openness and collaboration. We checked that infection control processes minimised the risk of infection, that facilities and equipment met people’s needs, that staff had the right skills, qualifications and experience and that staff managed medicines well.
