This service scored 75 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Kindness, compassion and dignity
People we spoke to said they felt staff treated people receiving care with kindness, compassion and dignity. One person told us, “Every care worker is kind and considerate of [relative’s] needs".
Treating people as individuals
The service actively sought feedback from people and staff. They acted on any arising concerns and put in place any necessary measures for improvement as a result. Incidents were recorded clearly and learning opportunities recognised.
Independence, choice and control
People told us they were supported to make their own choices and were asked their preferences when it came to care. Staff we spoke to were able to share examples of this in relation to tasks which included choices around clothing and meals. Some people mentioned they were not always able to have the same carer, but that the provider did explain if someone was not available.
Responding to people’s immediate needs
Records of care visits showed that people’s needs were being met and people we spoke to confirmed this. Some people said they felt carers were rushed on occasion but that this did not prevent them receiving the care required. Where there was any barrier to this it was clearly recorded. On person told us; “[relative] has dementia they’re sensitive to their needs. [relative] feels comfortable with them; they’re bright and happy people".
Workforce wellbeing and enablement
The service actively sought feedback from people and staff. They acted on any arising concerns and put in place any necessary measures for improvement as a result. Incidents were recorded clearly and learning opportunities recognised.
