Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must not provide personal care to any new service user whose presenting need for care or support is as a direct result of their learning disability and/or autism at St Mary’s Care Home until such time as the Commission is satisfied that the registered provider is in compliance with the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture.
The registered provider must submit a written report to the Commission within four weeks from the date this condition comes into effect and by 5 pm on the last Friday of every month thereafter.
The report must provide evidence of how the registered provider is meeting the principles of Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, and must specifically include:
a) Staff Training and Development
i. Details of training delivered to staff in relation to Right Support, Right Care, Right Culture, including how the service is meeting the mandatory training requirement on interacting with people with a learning disability and/or autistic people, namely training that meets the 4 standards set out in the current, applicable version of ‘The Oliver McGowan’ code of practice on statutory learning disability and autism training
ii. Staff attendance, completion rates, and how training is embedded into practice and supervision.
b) Person -Centred Care and Support
i. Evidence of how care and support is tailored to individuals’ needs, preferences, and outcomes.
ii. Examples of how people using the service are supported to have choice, control, and involvement in decisions about their care, including appropriate access to the community.
c) Progress on Building Remodelling
i. An update on progress with the remodelling of the building, including timescales, milestones achieved, and how the size, scale and design of the environment support people’s dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
ii. Confirmation of any risks or delays and the actions taken to address these.
Each submitted report must include a clear assessment of progress, any identified shortfalls, and the actions being taken to address these, with timescales for completion.
Terms of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
The registered provider must ensure that the regulated activity Accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care is managed by an individual who is registered as a manager in respect of the activities at St Mary's Care Home.
The registered provider must only accommodate a maximum of 53 service users at St. Mary's Care Home.
