Service users told us the provider offered flexibility with times and locations to support people to engage, including being open weekends and evenings. Service users told us they could get an appointment in an emergency and no service users had experienced appointment cancellations. Service users knew who their key workers were.
Staff told us satellite sites were located to maximise the geographical region where the service was provided and opening times at all four hubs varied to ensure service users were able to access the service in the evening and weekends.
Staff understood barriers to accessing care and were able to explain routes used to increase engagement, this included lived experience workers who pritorised outreach engagement with marginalised groups including delivering recovery groups for veterans, women only, interventions for Gypsy, Romany Traveler, outreach to BAME groups and teams focused on engaging rough sleepers and those with complex housing concerns.
CGL Spectrum had been a local education provider since August 2023, training external clinicians in addiction and facilitating special interest days. During the inspection we observed an external organisation facilitating a FibroScan clinic at the service, A FibroScan is a noninvasive medical test that uses ultrasound technology to assess the health of the liver. Service users also had the opportunity to have trauma therapy counseling sessions, supported by an external agency at the service.
Service users who were identified as having non-dependent substance misuse, could receive support from the telecoms team who offered 8-10 sessions via teleconference.
