Well-led
We looked for evidence service leadership, management and governance assured high-quality, person-centred care; supported learning and innovation; and promoted an open, fair culture. At our last assessment, we rated this key question as good. At this assessment, the rating remains the same.

The leaders explained the mission statement had been reviewed and discussed by staff in the last 6 months. The statement included inclusive, accessible, and equitable healthcare that responds to the needs of all members of their community. The practice had committed to work in partnership with patients to prevent illness, promote health and wellbeing, and support the diagnosis and management of both acute and long-term conditions. To identify unmet need, empower patients to make informed decisions about their health, and advocate on their behalf when navigating secondary care, community services, and the voluntary sector.
The leaders encouraged the staff to take part in learning, professional development, and training. Business continuity and disaster recovery plans were in place to ensure resilience in adverse circumstances.

Governance, management and sustainability
Staff had clear roles, responsibilities, and governance systems to support high-quality, sustainable care. Leaders used reliable data on risk, performance, and outcomes. Staff were well-supported, understood their roles, and received regular appraisals. Governance processes were mostly well-established, with improvements delivered or underway and accessible policies and procedures. Leaders and staff held regular meetings to address any clinical concerns, changes to practice and risks. Staff demonstrated a commitment to confidentiality and information security.
