All Inspections

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site inspection on 4 September 2025.

We found the practice had met all regulations.

The practice had effective systems to identify and manage risks, including infection prevention and control.

Staff had the skills, knowledge and experience to carry out their roles.

Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement.

Staff provided care and treatment in line with current guidance. They treated patients with dignity and respect and ensured access to care, support, and treatment when required.

Kingswood Dental Practice is part of Alliance Dental Care a dental group provider. The practice is in Hailsham, East Sussex and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children.

The practice has 3 steps as well as ramp access; car parking spaces are available, including dedicated parking for disabled people, near the practice.

The practice had 5 treatment rooms. At the time of our inspection, there were 4 dentists, 5 dental nurses, 4 of which were trainees who had dual roles as receptionists, 3 dental therapists, 1 dental hygienist and the practice manager. We gathered feedback from staff and spoke to a range of staff during our inspection, including 2 dentists, 3 dental nurses, the practice manager and the Compliance and Operations Manager for the group.

During a routine inspection

Patients told us that they had been fully involved in discussions with their dentist and other staff about the treatments available to them and any costs involved.

Patients felt that their privacy and dignity was respected by all staff who worked at the practice with appropriate time available for private consultation.

Patients we spoke with were pleased with the service and treatment they received. One patient told us, "You can always get an appointment in good time." Another patient said, "The staff are always friendly and helpful." We were also told, "Very good practice, the staff are kind and it always seems clean."

We found that people felt fully involved in their care and treatment. We saw records that confirmed that all aspects of treatment were consented to, and signed by both the patient and staff.

The surgeries were clean, hygienic with appropriate dental equipment. We saw that the service followed the procedures and policies for infection control.

We looked at training certificates that showed that staff received the necessary training and skill development to help them perform their role safely and well.

Patients were cared for by staff that were supported to deliver care and treatment safely and to a good standard.

The service had effective systems in place to identify, assess and manage risks to the health, safety and welfare of patients who used the service and others.
